Day 4 of our Rhode Island vacation was entirely mansion-less. We just opted to take a walk to the nearby public beach in the morning and then have a nice dinner in the evening.
We had another beautiful day. I can't believe how good the weather was. We were told it had been raining the week before. Lucky there were sunny skies the whole time (except that one evening where it rained for 15 minutes).
We headed out to look for the best lobster rolls (we were told) on the beach...
We found them on Easton's Beach...
At Easton's Beach Snack Bar...
This was our view...
We could see our hotel from the restaurant...
These were the "lobsta rolls." They were magnificent...
It's so funny ~ Doug and I ate a lot of fancy meals while we were in Newport, and we both agreed this was the best meal hands down - lol!
We did stop and get a frozen lemonade for the walk back to the hotel...
We went back to the hotel and just chilled. Actually, I called home and checked in with Briana and my parents. She had a big time that morning at Cousin N2's birthday party. She told me that she wasn't ready to go home yet, which was good because she still had two more days to hang out with my parents.
Doug and I thought we might be able to meet up with Kate again for another drink before dinner, but it didn't work out. Doug and I stopped at a restaurant called "The Landing" for a drink by ourselves...

We got a yummy sangria and sat at the bar. I got a few cocktail shrimp and Doug ordered some oysters for a snack...
We chatted a bit with the guy who shucked the oysters and clams - he was super cool - and we ended up watching the Belmont Stakes...
It was so crazy that we watched the Belmont Stakes in Newport, RI. The statue of August Belmont sits in front of the Preservation Society of Newport.
After our drink and watching the horse race, we walked over to "Fluke" for dinner...

It was a small, quaint restaurant with small dishes...
It was quite warm in this restaurant. Quite a contrast to the night before...
Doug got a ceviche appetizer, and we ordered some meats and cheeses...
We ordered this delicious ravioli as one of our small dishes (even though it came out pretty big!)...
And because it was our anniversary, we got some bread pudding with candles (for free)...
After dinner, we headed back to the hotel. We sat outside for a while and enjoyed the pretty night sky. Then we realized the moon had a little show to put on for us that night.
