So this happened this summer. It is so surreal.
I
had heard a few nightmare stories from some friends regarding senior photo
sessions. Bri's high school requires everyone to use a particular photography studio - who
basically has a monopoly in the metro Atlanta area. I was told the
sessions were really chaotic because of all the kids needing photos
taken - appointments are stacked right on top of each other. I heard that a lot of
people didn't like the pictures when they get them and they end up not buying any
packages at all (and just chose their yearbook shots). I chose the least expensive sitting fee to be on the
safe side (one casual shot, graduation drape and then the cap/gown). I
would see if I wanted to buy any of them later. I also have my
own photographer booked to take outside photos of Briana this fall.
So...Briana picked out her casual outfit, got her hair and makeup fixed the way she wanted and off we went to the studio.

Surprisingly, we had a really good experience. Pretty smooth. We went first thing in the morning, so there were only a few other students with their moms there - all guys for some reason. We were told immediately we were not allowed to take any photos of the session until the end when Bri could stand in her cap and gown in front of the 2024 sign.
She did her casual shot first. Then it was the drape. And finally the cap and gown.
How is my baby graduating this year?
I did already get the proof book sent to me and I surprisingly liked a number of her photos. I scanned the ones I really liked so I could show you here...
Since I have my own photographer taking some photos of her in the fall, I only chose a couple shots to purchase.
Honestly, when I received the proof book in the mail, it took my breath away. First, because it's freaking senior photos and that is overwhelming in itself. Second, Bri is so photogenic, so pretty and so grown up - and I was so happy we actually got photos that turned out (I have already heard some grumblings from some unhappy parents).
So there she is. My senior. I am excited for her photo session in October. Can't wait to see how those photos will turn out!
