Pentatonix Concert

In mid-November, Doug, Bri and I attended the Pentatonix concert. We purchased tickets months before the show, and of course, it landed in the middle of my sickness. But, I had already missed one of their concert years ago (Bri was two years old and I had no one to watch her that evening, so Doug ended up going with a friend) and there was no way I was missing this one.

Doug and I have been fans of Pentatonix since they were on the "The Sing-Off." It has been amazing watching their career skyrocket. I can say I was a fan literally from the beginning. :) And now Bri is a little Pentatonix fan too.

She was excited when we got the tickets. It was going to be her first concert...

We grabbed an early dinner and arrived at the show...

The only downside to the show was that there were TWO opening acts. The tickets didn't even say there would be opening acts. We got there at 7:30PM for an 8PM show, and Pentatonix didn't even get on stage until 9:45. Yikes. It was during the school week. Bri had been up since 6AM. She was already getting tired.

A girl named Abi was the first act (I had not heard of her before) and "Us The Duo" came on second. "Us The Duo" was fantastic. I actually remember them auditioning on "The Voice." They are a husband/wife team and they have beautiful voices...

Check their mashup out (you can kind of hear Bri singing and you can hear Bri's displeasure when they start to sing "Whip/Nae Nae" - ha!)...

Finally, Pentatonix took the stage. So exciting...

Scott...

Michael Jackson mashup...

Mitch...

Their original song, Can't Sleep Love...

Kirstie...

Kevin beat boxing and playing cello at the same time. Amazing...

Avi (my favorite)...

A few audience members were brought up on stage for a singalong. This little girl was picked by Scott and she was so stinking excited. She was hilarious...

Singing "Hallelujah"

When the encore finally came around, we decided to cut out of there. We hated to miss the last song, but Bri was starting to fade (it was after 11PM).

Bri wanted to go to school the next day because her running club party was being held that afternoon. So, I brought her to school late so she could get some extra sleep.

I am happy this was Bri's first concert. It was super kid friendly and it was also enjoyable for the parents. :) I was struggling with some anxiety (with all the people there), but I got through it. So glad I did because it was awesome!!!

Here is a pic of the audience!

And, we did the mannequin challenge with PTX ~ so cool...
