On the morning of Day 6 (Sunday), we thought it would be nice to check out some more of Maui's beautiful sights. We got up and decided to head to the Nakalele Blowhole and the Ohai Trail. We hadn't headed north/northeast from our hotel yet, so we wanted to check out that part of the island.
The blowhole was only about 15 to 20 minutes away from our hotel.

It started to rain on the way and we weren't sure if the skies would open up or not, but we kept going hoping they wouldn't (they never did thank goodness).
We arrived at our destination and realized there was a steep and rocky (and now very slick from the rain) trail down to the actual blowhole...

As we were figuring out if we should walk down the mountain, a man and his wife were coming up from being at the blowhole. The man said the blowhole was hardly spurting water at all. They had to wait 15 minutes just to see one spurt. Tide was too low...
That made our decision for us. Not worth walking down a dangerous, slippery path to possibly see nothing. So we headed about 10 more minutes down the road to the Ohai Trail...
The loop is just a mile around and there are beautiful views. A fairly easy hike...

It took maybe an hour or a little longer to make the loop. Not many people were there, so it was nice and quiet.
We got back in the car and started to drive to find a place to eat for lunch.
On the drive back, the sun came out and we came across the most gorgeous blue water (and you can see our hotel in the distance)...

This is a popular area for snorkeling...
I can definitely see why. It's so crystal clear. We didn't get to snorkel on this trip, but we were ok with it. It would have been fun, but we were able to fit in a lot of other amazing things during the week, so we were good.
We were pretty hungry after all that walking, so it was time to find us some lunch.
