NYC Trip 2024 - Day 2/Blue Fin And The Edge

After having a nice brunch and taking in an off-Broadway show, you'd think we would have been done for the day. Especially knowing the fact I almost didn't go on the trip. But, I was determined to see another really cool NYC thing, so that is what we did.

Thinking it could rain the next few days, we decided that we needed to go that evening to see the NYC skyline. We had already gone up in the Empire State Building and to the Top Of The Rock during previous trips, so this time we decided to visit "The Edge" at 30 Hudson Yards.

First, we did order some food from the Blue Fin restaurant downstairs in the hotel and Doug brought it to the room before we headed out again...

We all ordered different things, but then we ended up sharing pretty much everything we bought. Mac n cheese, king crab fried rice, lobster bisque, tiger prawn dumplings, filet, baked potato and a lobster roll. It was all very yummy.

It was getting kind of late and The Edge's hours only go until 10pm on a Sunday night. So around 8pm, we grabbed an Uber and went to Hudson Yards...

Entering the building and the wait to get into the elevator was really cool (with information about the building, conservation and sustainability)...

Waiting for the elevator to take us up...

Then we arrived...

Snagged this pic from the internet...

Then we went up a little higher (another flight)...

Bri's and my feet on the glass floor (Doug does have a fear of heights, so he wasn't doing that)...

Amazing views. It was so beautiful there...

The Empire State Building changing colors...

There was a bar on the observation deck level, so we bought a couple of drinks.

My heel was starting to give me a few issues, so it was finally time to head back to the hotel.

Waiting for our Uber, we saw "The Vessel"...

What an amazing, full day. I couldn't believe how much we did in one day, especially with how I was feeling a few days before. Luckily, I was able to get some sleep that night. We had a quieter day in front of us the next day.
