Another totally "Wow!" afternoon! It was pretty cold, but we still wanted to go up to the observation deck of the Empire State building. We bought "fast track" tickets in advance so we could get up to the observation deck quicker.
We hopped on the subway again and made it up to 34th street...
There it is! The Empire State Building...
Our tickets got us the red carpet treatment...
Up to the 86th floor...
The elevator...
Lots of different memorabilia on the walls...
The inside of The Empire State building (it was nice and warm in there)...
Then we walked out to the outside observation deck...
We made it!!!
What a view...
The Chrysler Building...
The World Trade Center and Statue of Liberty in the distance...
We had talked about going to see The Empire State Building at night, but instead we opted for sunset. There was a threat of a rain/snow mix for later that night (didn't happen) and we didn't want to risk going any later. It ended up being perfect though because we could see everything and the clouds were so pretty.
After walking around for quite a while, it was time to head out...

We stopped in the gift shop and grabbed an Uber back to the hotel.
We never ended up taking a taxi ride while we were in NY, but we found out that Uber drivers in NYC can be just as scary as taxi drivers. We had some good ones and bad ones. The one on the way back to the hotel from The Empire State Building was just nuts. He was all over the place. And yes, he actually bumped a guy who was jaywalking (the guy was fine luckily - pretty ticked off but fine). Did the driver do it on purpose? We'll never know...
We were exhausted from our long day. We just chilled the rest of the evening in our hotel room and ordered some light fare room service...
