Day 3, Part 2 - Vermont Vacation - The Fitch House, Woodstock Middle Bridge And The Event Green

As we were walking back to our hotel, we noticed a large brick building across the street as well as a pretty covered bridge.

We stopped in front of the house first. It was just lovely - lots of leaf and flower color...

We looked at the plaque on the house and saw that is was an historic home called "The Fitch House."

We took a few more pictures of Bri in front of it...

Once we got home, one of Doug's cousins saw my pictures of the house and mentioned to me that she thought that was the house that used to serve as an art gallery for a very prominent northeastern watercolor/oil painting artist (retired now) who happens to be a family member (a cousin of Doug's father). Upon looking into it further, it absolutely was his gallery! The property was sold several years ago and I believe it now serves as an event space, but it was really neat to find out the beautiful house we had been admiring belonged to a family member back in the day.

It would have been nice to know that info while we were there admiring the house!

We then walked over to the "Woodstock Middle Bridge."

What a pretty covered bridge...

View from the bridge - it was breathtaking...

We enjoyed the view from the bridge for a while and headed toward our hotel again. In order to get to the hotel, we needed to cross "The Event Green" which is a 4 acre piece of property and green space in the middle of the town (kind of like a small park)...

Heading toward The Green...

The Green...

 Almost to the hotel...

We got back to the hotel and rested for a short while. Then we ventured back out to explore a bit and to go shopping!
