Day 7 - Heading Home

We awoke to another sunny Savannah morning and it was time to pack up our stuff and go. Doug ran down to Starbucks one more time to pick up some drinks and munchies before we left (we do really miss that convenience!).

Mei Mei had been boarded at the vet's office all week (we checked in with them daily to get updates on her), so we were ready to pick her up and get her home.

Last morning...

Time to go home...

We had a great, smooth drive for the first two and a half hours. Once we got onto I-75, it started getting more trafficky...

Then we hit south of Atlanta (Locust Grove to McDonough) - and it was horrible per usual. That is the WORST stretch of road ever. Bumper to bumper every time we go through there. It took us about 35-40 minutes to get through that stretch. We hit it around 11AM! Ugh.

There was lots of traffic in the city of Atlanta and then again north of the city. But, we have a Peach Pass and once we got north of Atlanta, we hopped in the Peach Pass lane to get to Mei Mei.

She was SO happy to see us when we picked her up (and a little freaked out).

We got her home and she acted a little off for a few days. She ate, drank and went to the litter box just fine, but she slept A LOT. I know cats sleep a lot usually, but she slept more than she ever had. Between getting flushed out for eating the lily and then getting boarded for a week right after that, she was over it. She was just so happy to be back home. She's been Miss Clingy with all of us ever since, but she is really good now.

Happy girl...

So that was our Savannah trip. Lots of resting. Lots of good food. Lots of hot temps - heh. Lots of learning for Bri.

If Briana chooses to go to Savannah SCAD for school, we will be making more visits down there. If she picks the Atlanta campus or a different school, I don't think we will visit Savannah again for a while. We shall see!

If you missed any of my other posts...
