We absolutely loved staying at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Maui. We arrived the day after Memorial Day and left on June 5th. The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. The room we had was beautiful as well as our view. There was always a nice breeze at the hotel and the weather was pretty near perfect the whole time we were there. We were so, so happy with our stay.
Now if you are looking for a resort right on the beach, this isn't the hotel for you. You have to walk a little distance on the hotel grounds to get to the beach (and it isn't all that big), but this didn't bother us one bit. Kapalua is a little farther of a drive to get to some of the other towns in Maui, but we liked being away from everything.
The hotel was just beautiful...

The pull-out couch Bri slept on in the living area (and we had two bathrooms - one for Bri and one for Doug and me)...
I will say that the bed in the pull-out couch was not too comfortable. I kind of freaked at first when I felt it. I could feel the springs. But, we took the thick comforter from the bed along with several blankets and cushioned the mattress as best we could. Bri said once we did that, she was fine. Thank goodness...
We had a beautiful, long balcony to sit on (and we did that a lot)...
Doug pretending to sleep...
This was our view - we could see the ocean and golf course in the distance (it was so quiet and peaceful)...
It was funny how quickly rain would come through in the afternoons. It never lasted long...
Pretty at night too...
A couple got married there (we watched some of the ceremony from our room; it started raining on them - oh no!)...
There is an ancient burial ground on the resort grounds, so that is why the resort is set back from the ocean. I think the Ritz was very respectful of it - it was beautiful...
This was where our room was. Second floor on the left side...
We took a walk around the resort one morning. It is huge...

The pool area was gorgeous...

Doug told the hotel we were celebrating my birthday (my birthday is in mid-June), so they sent up cookies and cupcakes - so yummy...
We had a great experience at the Ritz. It's pricey, but you have to know that going in. Room service prices were pretty high. But I mean, it's a Ritz!
If we ever decide to go back to Maui one day, I would definitely stay there again.
Next up, the Haleakala Sunrise!
2 Kind Words:
Absolutely gorgeous!! Glad you enjoyed your stay there and that you were able to celebrate your birthday early! There can never be too many birthday celebrations!! :D
Wow, Wow, Wow!!! It looks fab...that pool is beautiful!
