The Westin Colonnade In Coral Gables

I have to give Doug props on this one. The hotel he picked out for our Miami portion of our trip was wonderful. I remember visiting Coral Gables as a kid, but I never stayed there for any length of time. I was a Kendall girl. Coral Gables was actually a very big part of my parents' lives when they were teens - especially Miracle Mile (where all the shopping is).

Everything we needed was just a short walk away...

The hotel was beautiful...

Our room was lovely - with a balcony...

Fruit and different flavored waters were available each day...

There was a lovely rooftop pool...

With Bri's injury, it was difficult to swim, but we made the most of it. She wore a glove and kept her hand out of the water...

View from the pool...

View from our balcony...

Briana in a deep conversation with dad...

Nighttime was so pretty...

And Miss Fancy Pants loved this cushy robe...

I was kind of sad to have to leave this hotel when we headed to Ft. Lauderdale. It was really clean and comfortable - and our room was huge! I highly recommend the Westin for anyone staying in the Gables.

And I have to add, the weather was beautiful the whole time we were in FL. It only rained the first afternoon we were there. There was a slight breeze the whole time we were in Coral Gables. I was prepared for sweltering heat and we didn't have any. We lucked out!
