Chattanooga Trip 2014 - Day 2, Part 1

Briana had been talking about visiting this museum for the longest time. We hadn't visited there since 2012, but Briana still remembered how much she loved it.

When we woke up Saturday morning, we were so surprised that Red had decided to grace us with his presence while we were out of town...

Before hitting the museum, we needed some fuel. The hotel has a Starbucks attached to it - perfect for morning breakfast...

The museum was a short walk from the hotel, so we headed on over. I didn't realize it was a free weekend until I looked the hours up online. It was awesome that it was free that day, but it made me a bit nervous about crowds. But, it really wasn't any more crowded that day than it would have been on a regular day.

The entrance into the museum/first exhibit is a huge jungle gym with some fun water activities...

Briana spent about 45 minutes just in this section. We had to drag her out of it to explore the rest of the museum.

Once we got into the main area of the museum ~

She built an arch...

Did a craft...

Threw some snowballs...

"Ice skated"...

Played hockey...

Tried on this "queen bee" costume...

"Dr. Briana at your service"...

Dug for fossils...

Played the drums...

Put on a puppet show...

Created art...

Took a driving lesson (and scared Daddy to death - she won't be driving for a very, very long time)...

Built a fort...

And sewed a pillow (for Pink Baby)...

Pink Baby approved...

We were at the museum for over three hours. Whew! We were exhausted. We grabbed a quick lunch and then headed back to the hotel to rest for a while.

We were going to meet my good friend Carole and her family for the parade that was supposed to happen at 6PM. We did meet Carole and her family, but the parade didn't happen. More on that in my next post. :)
