Trip To Chattanooga - Ruby Falls

After the ride on the North Pole Limited, we headed back to the hotel and got some shut eye because we knew we had a full day ahead of us the next day. We got up Saturday morning, had breakfast and then headed over to beautiful Ruby Falls. I have been to Ruby Falls several times, but I couldn't wait to show Briana. In order to see underground waterfall, you have to head 1,120 feet down in an elevator. Once you are underground, you enter a damp cave with amazing rock formations and walk with a guide about 3/4 of a mile until you approach the waterfall. Micah was our guide and he was fantastic and really funny. He had a "hippie-like" personality. I wish I could pull off saying things like "groovy" and "right on" - but it would never work for me. Briana followed right behind our guide the entire time. I hope he didn't mind having a very curious 5 year old right on his tail the whole time.

It really was a beautiful tour...

Here is the gorgeous waterfall...

Once you get to the waterfall, the lights are turned off. There is music playing and then the lights come on. It is very dramatic. Here is a video...

Once we got out of the cave about 75 minutes later, Briana played on the playground for a few minutes and Doug and I soaked in the view atop Lookout Mountain...

Briana loved going down into the cave. I am so happy that Bri loves to try new things. She is really fearless and very intrigued by new experiences. She is a special gal...

Right after we visited Ruby Falls, Gramma and Papa arrived in town. More details to come...

Briana and Hannah seem to have similar personalities! I love to watch Briana tackle new situations knowing that we're only a couple of years behind you! Fun!!
