Day 4 - Vermont Vacation - Covered Bridges, Mr. Mac's and Boston

We awoke to another beautiful day in Vermont. The sun was shining and I was super stressed about my heel.

This was the view from our hotel room window that morning...

Since I was struggling to walk, we opted to order room service for breakfast that morning. Eggs, bacon, toast - all the good stuff.

I somehow managed to pack up all my stuff.

Before leaving Vermont, Doug wanted to drive around and see a few more covered bridges. I thought that was a good idea because I could just sit in the car and admire from afar.

First, we stopped at the Lincoln Covered Bridge...

Then we stopped at the Taftsville Covered Bridge (we had passed that bridge a few times and I really wanted to see it)...

On the backside of the bridge (away from the main road), I didn't realize a beautiful waterfall was there. I had to get out and look. I limped out and took a few photos (Doug took photos too)...

Then we drove to Quechee Covered Bridge (near the gorge)...

And finally, we stopped at the Willard Covered Bridge...

I have to admit, it's hard not thinking about the "Beetlejuice" movie when crossing all these bridges! (Pics from the movie)...

By the 4th bridge, I was feeling kind of done. There were still a lot of bridges we could have explored, but I was ready to get to Boston at that point.

So we headed out of Vermont.

Bri and I started dozing a bit in the car as Doug drove. As I mentioned earlier, most of the drive is through New Hampshire.

We needed to stop somewhere eventually to eat some lunch (no need to stop for gas because we rented a Tesla). We were trying to figure out where to stop. One of the New Hampshire highway signs mentioned a place called "Mr Mac's." It is literally a mac & cheese place. Bri was ALL OVER that. So that is where we headed.

Mr. Mac's (I limped into the restaurant)...

It wasn't until we walked in that we realized we had seen this restaurant on "Man v Food"...

The menu was insane - so many choices...

And this just wasn't regular mac & cheese. This was amazing, gourmet-like mac & cheese. (Bri still thinks about it.)

Doug got the Deluxe Cheeseburger Mac (it is like a Big Mac and that is what Casey ordered on Man v Food). I picked Chicken Bacon Ranch and Bri ordered a regular Cheeseburger Mac...

It was amazing. So filling but so amazing. I could barely dent mine. I wish we had one of these in Georgia! Oh - and we all got small skillets. I can't imagine bigger ones - you'd have to share!

I had been feeling kind of down that morning, but seeing Briana light up eating her mac & cheese was a great mood lifter!

It was finally time to get into Boston...

We stayed at a Courtyard Marriott close to the airport and Bri loved having her own room that night (we had adjoining rooms)...

I put my foot on ice for the rest of the evening and ate a lobster roll for a late dinner (Doug and Bri brought up food from the hotel restaurant)...

It was quite good, but I've had better. I'm definitely not complaining though.

We were tired from all of our adventures. Doug was tired from all that driving. We needed some sleep. We had to head to the airport in the morning.
