Colorado Trip - Day 5, Boreas Pass (Stop 3)

Our third stop along the pass was at the Boreas Pass Summit/Continental Divide.

So, we ended up crossing the continental divide not once, but twice! The elevation at this spot was 11,442 ft!

The Section House sits on the summit of Boreas Pass and was originally the headquarters for the crew that maintained the railroad track that went between Como and Breckenridge in the late 19th century...

While we were there, I realized that we had not gotten a picture with all of us together.

Several months ago, Doug and I had a discussion as to whether or not we should purchase a selfie stick. I was in the camp of "I think we should get one for certain situations because you never know when it could come in handy" and Doug was in the camp of "I'm dead set against getting one" (he thinks they are pretty cheesy).

Doug was out of town on business a few weeks ago and somehow managed to get one for free. Begrudgingly, he gave it to me. I packed it in the suitcase because well, you never know know when it could come in handy.

Well, I thought Boreas Pass was a perfect place to try it out.

And look at these great photos I got! We were all laughing at first because you can look kind of corny using one of these things, but it made for a super funny moment ~ and we did get some good pics...

Then Wes hilariously took pictures of us trying out our selfie stick...

Not too bad!!

(And after all of that ~ I think Doug and I both ended up being right. LOL!)

Then for a few pictures without the stick...

How cute are they, seriously?

Mom/daughter selfie...

Walking up to the Section House and other cabins...

After walking around for a little while and enjoying the view, we moved on once again.
