Disney Report 2014 - Magic Kingdom 1

The first park we hit on our vacation was Magic Kingdom. It was President's Day, so the park opened at 8 instead of 9. We ate a quick breakfast in our hotel room and drove to the park super early. I was worried after the crowd of Downtown Disney that Magic Kingdom would be super crowded too. It was really crowded that day, but it didn't feel as chaotic as Downtown Disney. Thank goodness.

We took the monorail from the parking lot to the Magic Kingdom entrance...

We got there right when the gates opened...

The castle had a big crane behind it during the day. It's kind of a bummer for photo opps, but the castle is always pretty. Doug said he saw people on it either painting or cleaning it.

As you all know by now, I am a planner. So - I. had. a. plan. LOL! My plan was to venture through only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland that day. The next visit to Magic Kingdom later in the week was going to focus on Adventureland, Frontierland and Liberty Square.

We shot straight back to "old" Fantasyland and started hopping on rides. We got on the Peter Pan ride super quick. The line was so short, we were able to ride it twice!

They were even sprinkling "pixie dust" on children as we waited in line...

Had to shoot over to "Small World" too...

 The Royal Carousel...

And teacups...

We hit pretty much everything in "old" Fantasyland. The teacups are right next to the Tomorrowland Speedway, so Doug and Bri jumped on that. Lines were still really good. Not too long at all...

Then it was time for "new" Fantasyland - Storybook Circus (which includes the Dumbo ride and the Barnstormer) and The Enchanted Forest (which features Ariel and Belle rides/entertainment). The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train unfortunately is still not open yet - but it looks like it will be awesome...

The Beast's castle is in the distance...

This is where we met Ariel and rode the new Ariel ride (had Fastpasses for both)...

We ventured into Belle's area and I wanted to stop for a drink that my sister told me about at Gaston's Tavern...

While Doug went for the drinks, I got Bri in her princess dress because it was almost time for lunch at the "Royal Table" restaurant...

My sister told me to get a "LeFou's Brew." She said it sounded kind of weird but to try it and to trust her. So we did. And it was freakin' delicious!! Oh my goodness!!!

After sharing a drink, we headed over to the restaurant (it is in Cinderella's castle). It was really pretty inside...

The food was yummy and the desserts were amazing...

As we left the restaurant, Briana kept talking about the Haunted Mansion. It is one of the few things she remembers from her last visit to Disney. Now my plan was to not see it until Thursday because it is in Liberty Square. But she really, really wanted to go on it. So we did.

That meant going off plan. GOING! OFF! PLAN! ACK!!! I had to try to stop hyperventilating first (ok - I'm being a bit dramatic, but I was stressing a little bit - heh).

We went through Rapunzel's area to get to Liberty Square...

(Oh - and you might notice Miss B is now wearing shorts. The mornings were quite chilly but then it would warm up in the afternoons. So, I brought shorts because I knew B would start to complain about being hot. And just like I thought, she did. So I was ready. :D)

The line for the Haunted Mansion was very, very long. And I had no Fastpass. And we were there early afternoon. But, Bri wanted to do it. So we waited about 45 minutes. And she started to complain a bit because she had been so spoiled with shorter lines and Fastpasses. But I told her that she wanted to do it and I had warned her it was OFF PLAN. LOL! That's what you get for going off plan. Heh.

We had not been to the Haunted Mansion since it was updated. There was a lot of cool stuff to look at in line...

Once that was over, we headed back to new "Fantasyland" (whew) to ride Dumbo one more time (with a Fastpass)...

We went over then to Tomorrowland because I wanted to ride the rather tame People Mover. (I sound like an old person - LOL!)

We were getting a bit tired and it was mid afternoon. And we had a completely full day planned (morning til night) for the next day at Epcot. So we grabbed another drink and headed out of the park...

We caught the tail end of the "Dream Along With Mickey" show and then we headed back to the hotel...

We had a quiet dinner at the hotel that night and turned in.

Next day ~ Epcot!!!!

You crack me up with your plan... I have a spreadsheet for our Disney trips, it keeps me sane but the whole family teases me about it!
