Day 1 - W Hotel and Times Square

We got up early on Saturday morning (the first day of winter break) and headed out for our flight to NYC...

We were pretty excited!!!

We flew into the Newark airport...

We grabbed an Uber when we arrived and started driving toward the city...

We drove through the Lincoln Tunnel...

We finally arrived at Times Square and the W Hotel...

The hotel lobby was so cool. The hotel was really nice...

There was this neat water feature above us when we headed to the elevator that takes you from the street to the lobby...

We arrived in NYC early, so our room was not ready yet. We decided to check out Times Square immediately to pass the time. It was just crazy to be there...

The sky was bright blue and the temp was in the 40's. It was the warmest day that we were there. It got colder each day...

As we were walking around taking in the sights, I felt someone bump into my shoulder (not surprising because it was crowded). I turned around and it was the "Naked Cowboy"!!! He was walking backward and playing his guitar, so he didn't see me and I didn't see him. He turned around and kept walking, and I couldn't grab a picture fast enough. Ugh! But it was quite a welcome to NYC!! LOL!

When you walk around Times Square, there are a ton of characters walking around (looking for tips). They accosted poor Bri immediately (she is pretty cute). Since it was our first time there, we decided to go ahead and take pictures with them. It was really fun...

We walked around a bit and finally got the call our room was ready. It was on the 53rd floor and on a corner. Great view!

We booked a suite, so this was where Bri slept...

We got ourselves situated in the room and headed out to see St. Patrick's Cathedral, Radio City and Rockefeller Center that afternoon.
