We had visited NYC 4 times and I had always wanted to check out "Ellen's Stardust Diner" (it is a singing diner). Every time we would pass by there, there would a long line around the building to get in (no reservations). We always had a list of things to do and we would pass on going in there. This time, I was determined to get in...
We woke up a bit late on that Monday morning due to the busy day we had before. We decided to go to the Stardust Diner (which is right down the street from our hotel) for an early lunch. Our hotel in the drizzle...
With it being a bit drizzly (like the weather people had predicted), there were surprisingly still a lot of people in line. We joined the line but did notice that the line moved at a pretty quick, steady pace...

While they are taking orders, the waiters and waitresses start singing their songs immediately once their requests are called by the emcee. They literally work their food job as they sing. It's crazy!
This was our first waitress (we had two waitresses because of a shift change)...
This was one of the songs she sang ("No Day But Today" from Rent)...
This was my meal. It was a risk obviously, but it is what I wanted - and luckily I didn't pay for it too badly that afternoon...
We enjoyed listening to the other waiters and waitresses too...
Some videos...
"Love Is An Open Door" (Frozen)...
"Hopelessly Devoted To You" (Grease)...
This was our second waitress and she was super sweet...
She picked a song from "Hercules" as her song (Bri loves the Hercules movie) - "Zero To Hero"...
One of the last songs we heard before leaving was "One Day More" - which was so cool because we would be seeing Les Mis in Atlanta a couple months later...
The last song we heard before leaving was "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" which always reminds me of my grandparents...
We left to restaurant to head back to the hotel, passing "Back To The Future" on the way...
And Krispy Kreme...
We were full and happy, but I was a bit tired and my heel ached. Doug and Briana weren't tired though. So, I told them to let me rest at the hotel and they could go out on their own adventure. So they hit 5th Avenue.
More on that next...
