Doug was starting to feel a bit better on day 4 with his tummy but was still trying to be careful with his food intake. But, he felt good enough to take another morning walk and Briana joined him this time.
I am so sad I missed all the ocean beauty, but I'm glad Doug and Briana got to enjoy it...
While they were taking their walk, I got ready for the pool. We had no rented cabana this time, so I went down early to get a nice seat. Doug didn't want to lay out by the pool that day, but Briana said she would join me later...
I was by myself for about 45 minutes and then Bri joined me...
We relaxed for quite a while and decided not to eat poolside and head back upstairs to take showers before eating at the lounge for lunch.
We just chilled out that afternoon.
Then we got all fancy to head to dinner...
I had made dinner a reservation at the hotel restaurant named "Salt." Very upscale (with a dress code) - and it was yet another celebration dinner for Briana. (It was the third and final meal we didn't eat at the lounge)...
Us...
We started our meal with delicious bread and of course different flavored salts to sprinkle on the bread. My favorite was the sriracha flavor. Doug and Bri liked the mesquite, smoky one the best...
The meal was amazing.
We started out with an amuse-bouche. Then we split the lobster fettuccini appetizer. I had the beef tenderloin and Doug and Bri had the Wagyu beef. Then I ordered a Paris-brest (it's like a donut) with hazelnut chantilly for dessert. It was all scrumptious...
The check came out with more desserts - and I was too full to even attempt to eat them (Doug and Bri tried them)...
As we left the restaurant, we tipped the man who was playing the guitar the entire meal. He was really amazing...
Since I didn't get to go on any of the beach walks, I wanted to try to walk toward the dunes behind the hotel and get sort of close to the ocean...
Walking back to our hotel room, we looked in the window of one of the hotel shops and Bri had to show me a green purse she that had noticed a couple of days before. She told me the purse was worth thousands of dollars (she wasn't asking for it, she was just showing me). The price was just crazy!
It was a great day and a nice evening and we went to our hotel room for the night. We put the do not disturb sign on our door.
Strangely, the hotel phone started ringing in our room, so Doug answered it. Someone from the restaurant said they needed to stop by our room with something quickly and we said ok.
Well, our waiter forgot to give Briana her birthday dessert! Bri did kind of wonder why she didn't get one when she saw other birthday people getting them, but she didn't really think too much of it. Our waiter felt so bad that he had it delivered to our room. Bri actually said she like getting it later better than having it directly after the meal...
So it was a nice surprise that ended our day!
The next day was day 5 and we were heading home. We needed to get back because we had a week full of appointments ahead of us, and Bri had a couple of farewell get togethers with friends before heading off to college.
