We awoke to another beautiful morning on the day we were heading home. Sigh - it was really hard to leave our little paradise...
But, all good things must come to an end.
We took it slow that morning - didn't rush out. We had been getting up kind of early to hit the beach and pool, so we moved a bit slower that morning.
We stopped at Tortuga Jacks for lunch before leaving the island...
Doug was so happy they had a TV showing the World Cup...
And Bri was happy with her strawberry daiquari...
Then it was time to drive off the island...
We had every intention when we started our vacation that we would venture off the island at some point and visit other places (like Brunswick or St. Simons), but we loved chilling on the island so much, we never ended up leaving the whole time!
Bye Jekyll...
The ride home wasn't as easy peasy as the drive there. Lots more traffic and we came across a couple of accidents...
Thank goodness Doug could listen to the World Cup...
And we hit rain on and off as we headed home. This is what is looked like when we hit Atlanta...
Yeah - we hit a really nice thunderstorm...
It took us about an hour longer to get home than it should have. But we got home safe and sound, so that is all that matters.
Mei was super happy we were home. My mom was very sweet and checked on her a few times while we were out of town.
We just wanted a nice and relaxing vacation, and that is what we got. If you are ever looking for a nice place to visit, I definitely recommend Jekyll!
