We woke up on Wednesday morning to the sun. Woo Hoo!!
We got dressed and had a little continental breakfast.
Briana showed me the bag of snacks that the flight attendant gave her before we got off the plane the day before. He loaded her up with peanuts, pretzels and cookies. It was hilarious! (Perks of being cute in 1st class)...
We checked out of the hotel and headed back to the assisted living home. Thank you Holiday Inn Express for taking us in!!!
A little snow ball throwing...
We got back to the apartment and visited with Grandma and Grandpa again for a while. Then Doug's Uncle Frank arrived to take Grandpa to his appointment. It had been years since we had seen him and he had not yet met Briana in person. It was so good to see him again...
I told Doug I wanted to take a picture of him and his grandpa. This was the last one I took of them together (it seems impossible that he was gone just three weeks later)...
We all gave him big hugs goodbye - knowing we most likely would not be seeing him again.
We were a bit hungry for lunch after Grandpa and Uncle Frank left, and Grandma wanted to go play some bingo. We grabbed some food in the dining room and she went to her game. When we were done eating, we sat in the corner of the bingo room and watched the ladies play for a while. Grandma Ann did great! She won a couple of times and ended splitting the grand prize at the end. She had some luck that day!

Bri and I took some selfies to pass the time (I love that she still wants to snuggle at 9 years old)...
We escorted Grandma back up to her room with her winnings.
We talked for a while with her - I asked her a lot of questions about her young life. It was so interesting hearing some of her life story.
Then we took some more pictures with just Grandma. It is hard to believe she is the last grandparent (and great grandparent) we have left...
I absolutely adore this picture...
We finally had to head to back to Chicago that afternoon. We said our goodbyes to Grandma and promised we wouldn't stay away so long.
Driving out of St. Joe...
We headed for the Westin O'Hare hotel. Had an early flight in the morning.
2 Kind Words:
I think B will always be a "cuddle girl"!
I think the cuddles are there for good too, lily is still a cuddle bug at 13.
I love those photos they are amazing and now they mean more than ever.
