I left off in my last post when we were on the boat to Downtown Disney.
We pulled up to the dock and we had no idea what was in store...
The crowd was insane all over Downtown Disney. We only had about 10 minutes until our reservation because of the slow boats, and we could barely get through the crowd to get to the reservation desk for the T-Rex Cafe. We finally got up to the desk and a rude lady cut in front of us in line. Ugh. Finally, we gave our name and we were seated after about 10 minutes. Thank goodness we had a reservation. People were probably waiting around 2 hours if they didn't have one...
I made the reservation 6 months in advance. We got a great seat near the "ice cave."
Briana got a cute hat. The place was really neat. I had always wanted to take Bri there. It is basically a prehistoric Rainforest Cafe...
We were seated by this little guy...
The ice cave that changed colors...
After we ordered, Doug walked Bri around the restaurant. He also let her "Build a Dinosaur" (like Build A Bear) in the gift shop area - except she picked a prehistoric Tasmanian wolf...
When they got back, dinner finally arrived. I got a delicious mushroom ravioli.
Unfortunately, we lost our waiter after our dinner arrived. We were there about an hour and a half and couldn't order dessert (which was part of our dining plan) because he never came back to our table. We finally had to get someone else to finally get him. We had an early morning ahead of us, so we told him to nix the dessert and just get our check so we could get out of there.
On the way out, I snapped some pictures. The place was really cool...
The T-Rex Cafe was a really cool place to eat and the food was really good. The service was not the best and the crowd was crazy (due to the number of people and the popularity of the restaurant). I don't regret checking it out because it really was something to see.
After dinner, Bri really wanted to check out the Lego store. It was a madhouse too...
Doug got her a couple of Lego sets and we headed over to World of Disney...
We got in there and it was wall to wall people. It wasn't even fun being in there. Waaay too crowded...
It was a shame because we have been to Downtown Disney before and never experienced that kind of crowd. We had fun in years past. We grabbed an autograph book for Briana for the next day and got out of World of Disney.
The dresses in the window were really creative...
We shuffled our way back to the boat dock and waited for the boat. While we waited, it was pretty cool when we got to see the Rainforest Cafe volcano go off...
We got on the boat to head back to the hotel and the ride back was so nice. Quiet and relaxing. I needed some decompressing after that!
After all that chaos, I don't have a huge interest in going back to Downtown Disney for a long, long time. At least I know to never go on a holiday weekend again. It was nuts!!!
I can say the rest of our trip was nothing like that. The other days were much less chaotic!

2 Kind Words:
what a fun spring break!
Hehe, I am from Tasmania, Australia, and Briana's Tasmanian wolf is actually called a Tasmanian Tiger. I can't believe you can actually get one at Disney in the US!
