The weather the morning of Day 2 of our trip was absolutely beautiful. The sun was shining and the temps were perfect.
We stayed at the Residence Inn in Downtown Portland/Waterfront...
The hotel sits on the site where Longfellow's house used to be...
We got in the car and took a drive to an apple orchard. We go apple picking every fall, and Doug thought it would be cool to go apple picking in Maine. We drove to Ricker Hill Orchards in Tucker, Maine.
The leaves were really supposed to be vibrant and almost peak when we were in Maine. Unfortunately due to drought, the peak leave season was way behind. This is about all the color we saw while we were there...

We arrived at the orchard and it was so pretty. The views were breathtaking...
There were pumpkins and gourds in a patch on the property...
It was finally time to go picking...
The apples were quite small due to the drought, but they were still sweet...
Me and my best girl...
Traditional sitting on Daddy's shoulders time...
The view was just gorgeous...
Bri loved the cool apple picking tool...
We picked a bunch of apples and the lady that we purchased them from was so sweet...
We drove down the hill to go to the main orchard store and so Bri could play a bit on the property...
There was a corn maze and Bri was so excited to see it. The corn maze we visited over the years in GA closed recently and we weren't sure we'd get to a maze this year. So happy we stumbled on this one...
Stuff to climb on...
I was struggling a bit with my infection, but I tried to focus on the positive. I did it for her...
Firetruck...
Some putt putt fun...
Obligatory tractor photo...
For Doug too (snort)...
A quick visit to the store...
It was time for lunch and I was stressing a bit. I really wanted to taste lunch that day. The good news, I tasted lunch pretty good. More on that in my next post...
