Oh yes. The very first sleepover occurred for Briana and for Chani on Friday night. The girls were over the moon excited about it. I was too, but I was also VERY nervous. What if they argued (which they never do)? What if someone got upset? What if they didn't sleep at all? They had a birthday party to attend the next day - so I was a bit stressed about them getting enough rest. But, the sleepover was a complete success. There were a few bumps (because of Briana), but the girls had a great time and I got Chani back to Kathy in one piece. I did my job! LOL!
We met Kathy and Matt in a parking lot about halfway between their house and ours so they didn't have to drive all the way to me. Here are the girls ready to head to our place. Can you tell they were excited?
We arrived home and the girls immediately ran to Briana's playroom...
They then went to Bri's room and shut the door. They emerged looking like this...
They managed to put on probably every necklace, bracelet and ring that Bri owns...
Then they wanted sunglasses. They went out like this to eat dinner.
They said they looked like movie stars...
Faces at the Mexican restaurant...
They both wanted a pink balloon...
Of course, there were lots of stares and smiles at the restaurant when two adorable little girls entered the place covered in jewelry and wearing glasses. As we were leaving the restaurant, a man commented, "Oh, Hollywood!" I told the girls, "See, I told you that you look like movie stars!"
It was back up to the playroom when we got home. The girls tortured poor Doug for a while...

And why can't you dance to the Power Rangers theme?
They were anxious to get on their matching jammies and brush their teeth...
Into the sleeping bags for coloring and a movie...

Around 10PM, I told the girls it was lights out. I left the playroom, but I could hear them talking and giggling. And they came out of the playroom to get some more stuffed animals from Bri's room. I checked a bit later and Chani said she could "feel the floor" and was a bit uncomfortable. I told Doug to grab his sleeping bag and she crawled into it. I decided to lay on the floor with the girls so they would stay put and not talk. Within 10 minutes, it was silent and the girls were asleep. Score!!! It was about 10:40PM...
About 5:30AM, I heard Miss Chani walk into the hallway. I came out of my room asked her if she needed something and she said she was cold. I tucked her into the sleeping bag again with a heavier blanket. But I knew she was awake. About 25 minutes later, I checked again and she was sitting up. She was done sleeping for the night. Yawn! I told her she was welcome to color in Bri's room until Bri awoke. I also got Bri's iPad for her to watch a movie...
I woke Bri up around 7AM and she jumped right up. She went into her room and started watching the iPad with Chani. I then went downstairs to start working on breakfast. Star Wars pancakes...
Aren't they beautiful? ;D
Chani started eating her breakfast immediately. But Briana started with some attitude with me. She didn't want to come downstairs. She refused to tell me why or what was wrong. I took her to into her room and she got in some trouble. I told her she needed to get her tush downstairs and eat with her friend. She finally did. And after a while, she finally told me she was mad that she couldn't finish the movie on the iPad. Ugh. She apologized to me for her behavior and then I made her apologize to Chani. After that, the girls were fine...

Bri was in a great mood from that point on. They got dressed for the party and asked if they could bring purses...
Chani swung hers all around...
And she tried on some funny glasses...
We packed up Chani's things, and the girls and I were on the way to their friend
Katie's birthday party...
I think part of Bri's anger that morning was that I had given Chani some undivided attention while Bri slept a bit longer in the morning. She is not used to sharing me with anyone. I can totally understand that. But, she needs to understand that she can't act like she did either. It can ruin all the fun. I think she got it when I explained that Chani had been very considerate by not bothering her in the morning and letting her sleep later. She felt bad then. I am grateful that Briana does feel remorse.
Other than that slight hiccup, I think the sleepover was a great success! There was no way there wasn't going to be a tiny bit of 5 year old drama! The girls had a fabulous time. I enjoyed it too. I loved seeing how much fun they had. I totally took a nap when I got home from the party though. I unfortunately didn't get as much sleep as the girls did. :D
Briana is going to head to Chani's for a sleepover in July. I hope Miss B is as
good for Kathy as Miss C was for me!

4 Kind Words:
Mummy, you did very well :)
I know what its like to have a little one who is a bit jealous....we were at friends for dinner on Saturday. They have a one year old son, and every time I went to hold him, G would go crazy! She would do the same when Mark tried.
We are off for our summer break today, I bought a new camera yesterday, hoping to post lots of photos :)
:) Sounds like a lot of (tiring) fun. And I have the same with Hannah when she has her friend over too. The reality of sharing isn't always so great for them!
I love the fact that you took the 2 glam girls out to eat. Such wonderful memories. Don' be upset with Bri, she went to bed late and got woken up early...sheesh I'd be crabby too.
Oh my. She had a smile plastered on the entire night. Sorry you didn't get much sleep. The girls looked like they had a blast though! We're excited for Bri to come here. :) Matt and I had a great time too. Was so nice not having to worry about getting back or hurrying through to get back home. So, thank you for that too!!
