Chattanooga Trip 2014 - Day 2, Part 2

We checked out of the hotel late in the afternoon and I had arranged with my friend Carole that we would all meet up at a little cupcake shop right near where the parade was supposed to take place.

It is our favorite cupcake shop. It is the cutest place and the cupcakes are crazy good...

Briana indulging...

This is Briana's "evil" laugh. She does it all the time. And it is crazy cute...

From this point on, I didn't take anymore photos. I can't even believe it. Bad me! I don't know why I didn't. I guess my picture trigger finger wore out - LOL!

Carole and her family met us right in front of the cupcake place and we walked down the street to where we thought the parade was going to be. It was quiet. Way too quiet for a parade that was supposed to happening in about a half an hour. Both Carole and I had read an online article saying that the parade was taking place at that time on that street. We were so confused. Everyone was just walking around and there was definitely no parade on the horizon.

We were bummed. The parade had only not taken place one other time - in 2010. But it had gone on all the other years. We had no idea what happened.

So, we all just decided to go and have a nice dinner instead. This is one of our favorite places to eat while we are in Chattanooga...

The food was delicious. We had a couple of drinks and enjoyed each others company. We were sad about the parade but happy we got to spend some quality time together.

Carole and her family were staying in the area to spend the rest of the weekend in Chattanooga, but it was time for me, Doug and Miss B to head home.

I started looking online after I got home to try to figure out what the heck happened. I found out that the parade was canceled one week before due to lack of funds. Seriously! Because we don't live in Chattanooga, we never got wind of it and we never imagined it was going to be canceled.

Oh well. We made the best out of things anyway!

We had a wonderful trip. I always love quality time with my gal and my guy. Maybe we'll try something else next year - or maybe not. Heh.
