Ed Sheeran Concert

On Friday, Nov 9, Doug, Bri and I attended the Ed Sheeran Concert at Mercedes Benz Stadium. Briana LOVES Ed Sheeran. She knows every word to every song.

Doug and I surprised and told her about the concert as we were driving one evening and this was her reaction...

We decided to stay in a hotel close to the stadium that evening instead of trying to drive home so late after the concert. We checked into the hotel and had a nice dinner nearby before heading to the concert.

Then we walked toward Mercedes Benz Stadium...

The entrance...

Doug had gotten us seats in a suite on the suite level of the stadium...

We had a great view...

And we even had a nice private bathroom - score!

Lauv was the first opening act...

Snow Patrol came out next...

Now you'd think having seats in a suite would be a good thing. And it can be (we saw U2 in a suite years ago). It's best if you have seats in a suite if you are only with people you know - like co-workers or friends. Unfortunately, the suite we were in was one that anyone could buy seats. And the seating arrangements in the suite are not enforced because it is a suite. We didn't know that. Luckily we sat in our correct seats, but other people did not. About 20 people can sit in a suite together.

Five young women entered the suite with pizzas and ate in the dining area. They were "pre-gaming" before the show even started. They decided not to find their seats until Ed Sheeran came on stage. When they realized they couldn't sit together, they started becoming obnoxious and they were standing in the aisle. They were drunk, so they were talking and being very rude. Doug yelled at them and got security to clear them from the aisle. They decided to stand in the dining area behind us and just chit chat. They didn't care about the concert at all. I finally turned around after about 4 numbers and hollered at them for talking and being so rude. Mercedes Benz did absolutely nothing but clear them from the aisle. Customer service was supposed to arrive to talk to them but never did (Doug followed up with an e-mail to them a few days later and we never heard anything back. Shame on them.) They didn't care these girls were too drunk to care about the concert. The women did finally quiet a bit after I yelled at them, but they definitely put a bit of a damper on part of the concert for us. My question is - why go to a concert if you aren't going to listen to it or even remember it the next day?

Despite the rude and obnoxious women in our suite, the concert was AMAZING. Ed Sheeran is quite the performer. He was on stage - by himself - for two hours straight. He had a looper, several guitars, really cool backdrops and his voice. That's it. And he was so entertaining.

I think my favorite part of the concert was watching Briana sing every single word to every single song. And I really loved watching her sing her favorite song "Perfect" along with the person who wrote it. Dreams do come true.

Here are a few pics...

And here are some snippets of video from some of the numbers (scroll down under the videos to read about our hotel if you don't watch the videos)...

He left the stage for a minute before performing "Shape Of You" and came back wearing an Atlanta United jersey. Very cool!!

After the concert, we stayed at the Glenn Hotel. It's funny - we saw several other families who went to the concert do that as well.

We got champagne and strawberries delivered to us that night...

The view from our room...

This was the hotel the next morning...

Very pretty lobby...

Miss B in her "merch" before heading home...

There were a few hiccups that night, but Briana had the best time (she said the rude ladies didn't even bother her) so it was worth every penny we spent for the evening. And Ed Sheeran was so worth going to see - he was fantastic. I love that Briana enjoys concerts so much.

Get this - we are going to two BIG concerts in 2019!!!!

Doug surprised me at Christmas with P!nk concert tickets for March!!!! And he also got us tickets to see Queen with Adam Lambert in August!!!! I am SOOOOO freaking excited for both!! You know I'll be blogging about them both!!!
