Pioneer Days Festival - Year 6

We thoroughly enjoyed our annual visit to the Pioneer Days Festival on Labor Day Weekend once again!

Per usual, we invited friends Ansu, Khalid and Kira to join us for the festivities. And I am very thankful to my friend Ansu for accompanying Briana on all the crazy rides she wanted to go on this year. I get very dizzy on spinning and upside down type rides (though I can do some roller coasters), so I can't go with Bri on them. A big thanks to Ansu for helping me out!

Here are the girls on the tractor ride to the fair (the boys were with us, but I didn't get pictures of them!)...

Sweet friends...

Doug, Bri and I went to the fair ourselves the first two years, but we started inviting K, A and K to come along with us when they moved to Georgia. (You can look through all our visits ~ I have them listed in my sidebar.)

First year attending with Kira...

Second year...

Third year...

Now the fourth year...

We grabbed something to eat when we first arrived and then went straight to the Ferris wheel...

Me and my best gal...

Shades...

View from the top...

Next was the Merry Go Round...

Then the Orient Express...

Though Bri likes these smaller/slower rides, I think they are a little lackluster for her now. My thrill seeker wants a bit more danger excitement...

This was her first time ever going on an upside down type of ride ~ The Ring Of Fire. My heart was in my throat...

Look at her smile...

Yep ~ she went upside down...

As my baby child was going upside down, someone's cell phone fell out of their pocket and exploded on impact...

So what did Bri think of the ride? Two thumbs up!! What did Kira think about Bri going on it? She told me "4 thumbs up!"...

Here is Briana's reaction getting off the ride...

Next up, the Fun Slide...

Next up ~ The Himalaya...

The Flying Dutchman...

Then the girls when on this twirly ride...

Then it was time to play some games and get some prizes (like matching blow up dolphins)...

Finally it was time to take one more ride on the Ferris Wheel...

The fair seems to be getting a bit smaller as the years go by. There are less rides and there actually seemed to be less visitors this year. The Ferris wheel was crazy squeaky this year too. But, we still really enjoy going. I don't ride any of the rides really, but watching Briana having fun on them is the best thing ever for me. And we get to hang out with friends - so double bonus!

Hope the fair continues to come around and that our tradition continues for years to come!
