Oh my gosh. What can I say? Our experience at the New England Falconry was absolutely amazing.Our hotel, The Woodstock Inn, is partnered with the New England Falconry and that is how we found out about this amazing experience. When looking for things to do in Vermont as we planned our vacation, Doug asked Bri if she wanted to hang out with falcons and owls and it was an immediate yes.
I had no idea what to expect. I was kind of nervous and unsure about it, but I am so glad I joined in the experience. So amazing cool!
We arrived at the falconry for a 90 minute session...
Outside, we were able to look at the falcons...
And we also got to see Sibley, the Eurasian Eagle Owl...
Our guide for the experience was Anastasia - and she was amazing...
She introduced us first to Niko - and this was the falcon we were going to "play" with for the afternoon. Our group was just Doug, Bri and me and another couple who were there for the experience.
This was the beautiful field we were in...
There were perches situated at certain stations all around the field. Niko was a young newbie, so Anastasia warned us he wasn't always going to do everything perfectly! He did really well though!
Our falcon experience was Niko flying to the different perches and then flying back to our glove for food (one participant at at time). Food was the driving force for everything!

Then it was time to meet Alba, the barn owl...
Alba didn't land on or interact with any of the perches. She would just fly and fly and then land on someone. She was a beauty...
90 minutes seemed to just fly by.
It is an experience we will never forget. Highly recommend!!!
Once we were done, it was time to head back to the hotel. My heel was kind of throbbing by then with all the walking we had done that day. We got back to the hotel, and that is when I had my tripping accident. More on that next...
