When we woke up on day 5 (Tuesday), it was cloudy and foggy. Ugh. Our plan for the day was to drive around Acadia National Park - with the first stop being at Cadillac Mountain around 10AM. Reservations are required for access to the mountain, and since it was our last day there, we couldn't change it to another day. So, we had to go with it and see what would happen.First, Doug and I grabbed a quick, early breakfast at the Sunrise Cafe. They also had lunch you could take out, so we grabbed a few sandwiches to go in case we got hungry while we were at the park...
Then it was time to head to the mountain. We winded up the mountain (in our car), and it got foggier and foggier as we climbed.
We arrived and saw this...
And what we actually saw...
We just started laughing. All the people visiting there at that time were dealing with exactly what we were dealing with. We were all laughing. It was just crazy.
Here we were...
All the amazing foggy sights...
The best way to experience the mountain that day was by looking down...
There still were some pretty things to see.
We waited around for quite a while hoping the fog would dissipate. It just wouldn't. We needed to move on because there was still a lot to see and we did have reservations for another boat tour at 4PM that day. So we needed to go.
We got on Park Loop Road which would take us all around Acadia...
More of our Acadia adventure next...
