Savannah 2015 - Day 1

It takes about 4.5 to 5 hours to drive to Savannah from where we live. We grabbed a quick breakfast on the road and arrived in Savannah around 2PM. 

We get a bit excited when we see the bridge to Hutchinson Island. We know when we cross that bridge, we are just minutes from the hotel...

Here is the Westin. Our favorite place to stay in Savannah...

We checked in and this was the view from our room...

We were really hungry when we arrived. So, we decided to jump on the ferry to River Street to grab a late lunch. Bri really wanted to check out the pool first. We told her after lunch that we would take her swimming...

Before heading to River Street, we stopped by the concierge desk to ask about a particular outing that Doug had seen online. We booked an excursion for the next day (it was already booked up on the 3rd and 4th). We got reservations just in time and were quite excited about it.

We boarded the ferry to River Street. This was Briana sitting inside the boat...

Then we ventured outside...

We weren't sure where to eat, but we came upon a restaurant called "Rocks On The River" and it looked good...

The food was delicious. I started with a she-crab soup that was amazing. This French dip sandwich was huge and I could only eat half...

Bri ordered a pizza off the kids menu and it was huge too. She scarfed the whole thing down. Wish I had taken a picture of it.

We thought about stopping in a shop or two, but we were tired and Bri really wanted to swim. We jumped back on the ferry and headed back to the hotel...

The sun was just starting go down when we got to the pool... 

Bri was so excited to get swimming...

There aren't many places where you can sit poolside and have a humungous barge float by...

Bri loved swimming...

Doug got her B this special Death Star beach ball to bring with us on vacation...

Don't be fooled by seeing all of these pictures taken where Doug and I are poolside and Bri is swimming alone. We were in the pool playing with Bri most of the evening. B is an only child, so she doesn't have a sibling to keep her occupied. So that means mom and dad have to play with Bri a lot of the time. We love playing with her, but there is very little rest for the weary. ;)

After swimming for a long while, it was time to head back up to the room. We had our excursion booked for the next day and needed to get up early the next morning.

It was time for some sleep after a very long day!
