Day 5 of our Savannah vacation was super chill. No lunch reservations. No dinner reservations. Just playing it all by ear and not doing much. And that was totally ok with me.
We decided to chill all morning at the pool again...
Doug and I knew this time that we would be able to order lunch poolside because it was a Thursday. Nice!
We had the sweetest, perkiest, silliest waitress who catered to us while we were at the pool. I wish I could remember her name, but she was a real hoot (she was the shorter one)!
We swam and laid out and relaxed. A group of about 15 women (we could tell they were from up north) slowly showed up at the pool as part of a girls 50th birthday weekend, so it got a bit busy after a while. The ladies were quite lively/talkative. Doug and I made sure we ordered our drinks and lunch before they did!
Frozen strawberry daiquiris...
I had a Nashville hot chicken sandwich for lunch (so many fries - couldn't come close to eating them all). It was quite tasty...

After several hours by the pool again, we headed back to our room to shower and cool down. Each day, the temps in Savannah got warmer. We just hung around the hotel that afternoon and stayed cool.
Our balcony was shaded in the afternoon, so I did sit out there for a little while enjoying the river...
It was finally evening time, and Doug and I didn't know what to do for dinner. We didn't want to Uber again and we didn't have a dinner reservation anywhere.
We just ate downstairs at the hotel Mexican restaurant - Savannah Tequila Company...
The food at this restaurant seems more authentic than a lot of Americanized Mexican restaurants. It is really tasty.
Doug and I split a queso fundido, a few soft tacos and some street corn. Everything was so pretty and flavorful!
And that was the end of our day. Like I said, we didn't venture out too much that day.
We knew we were going to have a very busy Friday, so we rested up for that. We were going to get our girl the next day...
