We stayed at the beautiful Wilderness Lodge this time around on our visit to Disney. Last time we stayed at the Polynesian. I really loved the monorail access last year - that is the one thing I missed at the Wilderness Lodge this year. But, there is a beautiful boat ride over to the Magic Kingdom from the Wilderness which is very nice. It's not as quick or convenient as the monorail, but the ride is very pretty and it isn't too troublesome.
We entered the hotel and it was certainly grand...
This was the view from our room. If those trees weren't there, we would have been able to see Cinderella's Castle directly. But we did see beautiful fireworks every night from the room above the trees. I'll save that for another post though...
The grounds were beautiful...
Then a funny thing happened. On the third day of our visit, we went downstairs to head over to Hollywood studios and everything in the hotel was decked out for Christmas! It was like Santa had visited while we were sleeping and decked the halls...
I definitely give the Wilderness Lodge a big "thumbs up." :D
9 Kind Words:
Briana looks so tall in these photos.
We love the Wilderness Lodge at Christmas
Sorry, last comment was full of spelling mistakes!
Just to say...you timed your trip well...looking forward to hearing more.
Hey, that looks familiar. Chani LOVED going over that bridge, over and over again.
Oh, we've stayed at The Wilderness Lodge on both our Disney trips, we loved it that much!
Glad to hear you enjoyed your time.
Lisa,
I just came over to your blog after reading your comments on TongguMomma's blog (Sunday linkage). I agree 100% with your point of view (I wrote a comment back to you on TM's site: sorry, I called you Briana!).
Love these pictures and will be adding you to my blog role. Would love to have you come check out my blog, too. Your daughter is beautiful.
We stayed at the Contemporary in August, but went to the Wilderness Lodge one night to eat at the hotel restaurant (the Artist's Lodge? something like that). The Tongginator LOVED that bridge and we LOVED the hotel. Definitely more kid-friendly than the Contemporary (no one tells you that Chef Mickey's is fun to go to, but not fun when you are trying to get a little one down to sleep).
Looks lovely and what a great place to stay. We're going on the cheap in January and doing the value music resort...oh well maybe we'll do it up another time. Love all the piccies of Bri, she looks like she had a fabu time.
We stayed at the Polynesian last time we were there and loved the monorail access... I think we may stick to monorail hotels for our next visit bc we have the baby in tow, but good to know that the lodge gets rave reviews too!
We loved the Wilderness when we stayed there back in April '08 but definitely like you prefer the convenience of the monorail at the Poly. Granted we've been there since then and are going back again in April. As you know, I could live there.
That's pretty cool that they decorated overnight like that. Must've been awesome. And from what I know the Wilderness has the best Christmas decorations. Can't wait to hear more about your trip!
