Sorry about the fuzzy pictures, but I was snapping quickly with my cell phone...
Bri and I met my friend Kathy and the gang today over at Sparkles for some roller skating fun again...
Unfortunately, Bri fell a few more times than she did last time, including bumping her head against the carpet wall, so we did have a couple of tears. And Chani had on some new roller skates that felt a bit slippery to her, so she was a bit more timid skating than last time. And she shed a couple of tears too. Now I'm not saying the girls didn't have a good time because they did, but they probably had more fun sipping on icees and playing in the super cool fun zone...
And I must add one thing though ~
"Dear Sparkles - I understand that you cater to frenzied daycare/camp kids during the morning and early afternoon hours in the summertime, thus leaving the poor civilians off the street to fend for themselves. But, please don't allow me to rent an hourly skating roller for my daughter and then ten minutes into skating ask everyone to leave the floor and take off their skates so you can hold a 20 minute non-skating dance contest for the camp kids. Remember, there are 5 year olds at your facility that are not there with a camp. And it usually takes 10 minutes just to get my daughter's skates on in the first place."
I did go up to the counter and made them add 15-20 minutes back to my rental time. Hrrrmph!
"Oh - one more thing Sparkles. You need to fix all the broken lockers and all the gaming machines that don't work at your facility. Thank you."
Vent is now over. :D
On a much lighter note, the Saturday before I left for vacation, Briana went over to ML's house to play for a few hours which allowed me to get some much needed packing done. Amy snapped this picture of the girls playing and sent it to me. Sweet girls!
2 Kind Words:
Dear Nancy (with open Yahoo ID - you probably got hacked today by the way) - if your child had been at the Sparkles that day, then yes, she would have been one of the frenzied.
The camp kids were skating into each other and everyone else, and I saw a fight in the play zone that had to be broken up. Made my FIVE year old a bit nervous.
It was chaotic to say the least. Probably 1 supervisor per 10 kids. Kind of hard to handle when there are probably 30 kids per group and 3 daycare camps there at the same time.
Oh - and I deleted your comment by the way. My blog, my opinion.
