Autumn and A Little Update

Fall is definitely in the air and you can tell by the way Bri was dressed to go to the farm a week ago. I love this time of year. Georgia was at peak color last week and I took a few photos from around my house...

Well, I am trying to enjoy fall as best as I can, but unfortunately, my stomach issues returned not long after I wrote my post about my improvement. So, I finally went to see a specialist. I have had two tests done on me and now I have a follow up appointment next week. Actually after the testing, my stomach issues improved dramatically. Unfortunately, now I am experiencing some dizziness and a feeling of imbalance ever since those tests were done. I think laying for longs periods of time without moving has affected my ears somehow. I feel like I am in a nightmare I cannot get out of. I just want to feel well. I am tired of being sick. I continue to plug along because I have a daughter and husband that depend on me, but there are so many times I wish I could just lay in bed. Just pray for me. I am hoping to see a doctor this week about my dizziness. I'll keep you posted.

As for Miss B, I never posted about how her teacher's conference went a few weeks ago. She is doing great academically and socially, and I am very proud of her. She has lots of friends. Bri's teacher kept saying how incredibly sweet Briana is. Her teacher did bring up how sensitive Briana is and asked me if she is like that at home. I told her that yes, Briana is an ultra sensitive girl. She cries very easily and always has. Not sure how to toughen her up though! Her teacher also mentioned a slight concern with Briana's speech. Bri doesn't always enunciate her words correctly. If you remember, Bri did not speak in sentences until she was three years old. I even went to Babies Can't Wait because I was concerned and they turned me away. Briana speaks very well now, but she does have certain words that she has a hard time enunciating at times. Bri's teacher had the speech teacher come in and evaluate Briana (a few days after our conference) and I was told that her issues are solely developmental, thank goodness. She just has problems with "r's" and "l's" right now, but she should develop them over the next few years. If she can't say a "r" sound at the end of a sentence, she will just leave the "r" off. So, my gal is sporting a bit of a Boston accent with a slight southern drawl. Quite a nice combo, don't ya think? ;) Personally, I still think she has the cutest voice ever.

Doug is very busy with work and he travels quite a bit. That has been a bit difficult with my illnesses, but I am surviving. He loves his job though and in this economy, I am not complaining. I'm happy he has a great job that he enjoys right now. It allows me to be a stay at home mom - which I absolutely love.

So that is my update for now. I don't like being on the computer for long periods of time with my balance issues, so I am going to sign off for now.
