Summer Vacation Wrap Up

With all of the craziness of the past week, I haven't been able to officially wrap up Briana's summer vacation in a blog post. Summer vacation was 2.5 months of keeping Ms. B busy and happy. I think I did a pretty good job. And now I am in the recuperation phase. ;D

Over the last couple of weeks of summer, Briana...

Painted pine cones....

Made English muffin pizzas...

Ate Star Wars pancakes with blueberries...

Played with Lite Brite...

Looked cute and super summery...

Played on a Mac at the Apple Store...

Helped Mommy wash dishes...

Looked online with Daddy at various kinds of mushrooms because she saw big yellow ones in the woods behind my parents' house that fascinated her...

Ate something called "Crazy Cake" at a local bbq place...

It looks all kinds of gross, but Bri loved it...

Had a couple swim dates. One with Cousin N...

And another with Gramma and Papa...

Had a couple of end of summer play dates. One with Chani...

And one at Jumpits with Laney, Hailey and Hayden...

And Mommy even got a big girl play date with friends Lisa S and Kathy for some pottery painting...

So that is my "end of summer vacation" wrap up. Notice I didn't say the "end of summer" wrap up? Because we all know it is still the middle of summer and a million degrees in GA. I had a few people mention to me that is seemed like we went back to school early where I live. It is kind of early. But Bri got out of school in the middle of May, so she had 2.5 months of summer vacation which is pretty good I think. And in my neck of the woods, we are considered to be on "year round" school. Briana will get a fall break in September, winter break in February and spring break in April (all a week long). She will get a full week off at Thanksgiving and two weeks off at Christmas. So, it really balances out. I'm already trying to figure out what to do with her for that week in September!

I hope all of you that are still enjoying summer vacation soak in all the sun and fun that you can get! It goes by quickly so enjoy it now!

I can already feel the autumn coming. The air is cool in the morning and evenings (low 60's). Feels like back to school time - lol.

Looks like you all had an awesome summer break.

Love the watermelon bowl - what a great idea!
