Vacation To Napa Valley

Doug and I took our first vacation away from Briana and got back home last night. It had been almost five years since he and I took an extended vacation alone and it was most definitely time! We are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary next week and this was our gift to ourselves. I have always wanted to go to Napa Valley in California. It has always been on my bucket list. It was absolutely gorgeous there. I knew it would be beautiful, but it was even more so than I ever imagined. 

All we did was eat and drink wine the whole time. We had a spa afternoon one day. It was the most relaxing vacation I have had in a very, very long time.

Doug really did it up big for me. Yes - I was spoiled. He made reservations at several amazing restaurants and made the appointments at the wineries. He also found the superb hotel we stayed at in Yountville. 

It is a quiet time of year to visit Napa. The leaves and grape buds are just beginning to sprout on the vines. The end of summer and fall harvest season are the busiest times to visit. I'm so glad we went when we did. The weather was perfect, it was quiet and romantic, and everyone we came across was so unbelievably nice.

By the end of the trip, I was really, really, really missing Briana. I am so glad to be back home now with my gal. I have to give the biggest shout out to my parents that came to my house to take care of Briana while we were gone. She had a blast with them and they took the wonderful care of her. I didn't have to worry at all knowing she was in the best hands.

I will do a post on my trip soon. I am trying to get back into the groove of things and also get myself back on my time zone. 

I feel rejuvenated and ready to take life on again. It was most definitely time for a break!
