Asia Update

My sweet girl made it through a 2.5 hour surgery today. Three masses and two very diseased lymph nodes were removed. But the cancer is out!

I get to pick her up tomorrow morning.

Asia has a drain coming out of her arm and she will be in pain for a while. She can't jump for a week or so and she needs to wear a cone for a few days. I see a big cage in her future for her protection. She will be very unhappy. I know she doesn't understand what is going on right now.

If it wasn't for the big tumor that formed on her leg, we would have never known about the chest/arm mass. A blessing in disguise.

I hope this is not a super aggressive cancer and I pray it doesn't try to come back again for a long time (since she has had it before - I cannot say it won't ever come back now.) We could attempt chemo, but it is so expensive and I don't think I want to put Asia through any more at 15 years old.

I am so happy she gets to stay around for a while longer.

It should be an interesting weekend (with a very upset kitty that is in pain).
