I picked up my sweetie from the vet today. She is limping around from her three different surgery sites. The chest site has a drain coming out of it. Poor thing - she is on a lot of pain meds right now.
She was a bit freaked coming home this morning. She didn't like the "cone" at first. I thought I would try to cuddle with her on the bed but of course she jumped off the bed immediately. ACK! She is not supposed to jump at all (tell her that). I won't attempt that again.
So, I stuck her on the screened porch - her favorite, favorite place to be. I moved around the furniture so she can't jump on it and have several soft places for her to sleep during the day. She started to calm as I sat with her a while. She has been sleeping comfortably all afternoon. I think she will be on the porch in the day and crated at night inside. She won't be happy crated, but she will be safe. I cannot wait until she is healed. I feel like I have a newborn baby that I need watch 24/7.
Doug took Bri out to dinner tonight and I am at home watching Asia. I will be keeping a close eye on her all weekend (I have a lunch date on Sunday - Doug will be on duty then).
I have to get her drain taken out on Monday. Another drive to the vet. Not fun, but I don't mind. She is still here with me and that is all that counts.
1 Kind Words:
Don;t worry, she will be with you many years more...:)
She's a strong girl!!
