LOL! Bri was actually really good about this trip (no tears), but there have definitely been tears when Doug has left town before. He's been traveling a lot lately. All domestically, but it is still tough with him gone so much. Tough on Bri and tough on me and tough on him. Miss B and I got through it! And I think we did great.
This was the first Monday soccer practice Doug had to miss, so Assistant Coach Shannon led the practice and I helped. I think we did pretty well...
On Tuesday, I received a photo from Bri's teacher showing the room door for B's classroom. Each year, the school has a contest for the best decorated room door in each grade. Honestly, I had no idea that the room door was even being done this year (it was never announced - which I was slightly miffed about). I think the two room moms that decorated the door did an absolutely amazing job ~ it just would have been nice to know that it was being done before hand. I know in first grade, parents were asked to provide photos for the door (that way we all felt like we contributed a bit).
It really turned out amazing though. I don't see how they won't win...
There is my girl...
On Wednesday, Miss B and I decorated the house for Halloween...
Thursday, I picked Briana up from running club in the afternoon. Her coach just gushes about her every time I get her. She says Bri is such a smart runner and makes her heart "pitter-patter"...
And Friday was Spirit Day at school. Adorable...
Briana did her test redo on heat on Thursday and she brought her grade up from a 1 to a 3!!! That's really good. I know more about heat myself than I ever did. I would totally rock third grade now. ;)
And she also took her spelling test on Friday. One of her "wow" words was "onomatopoeia" (she had to know the spelling and definition). And she got it right! That allowed her pick out something from the treasure box. She was a happy girl.
Doug did get home late Thursday night, but he had meeting out of the house most of the day on Friday.
Glad to have him back. He should be around a bit more over the next couple of weeks (fingers crossed).
1 Kind Words:
Onomatopoeia, is making the rounds on the spelling words lists, Rosie just had it also. Crazy. Well done Briana, that's a huge word.
You are always so so busy. Gosh.
Hmmm, Husband with a job that makes him travel a lot. hmmm. LOL. You know what I am thinking, this could work
