My First Consignment Shopping Spree

I went to my very first consignment sale with Mick and Kathy (fellow future moms of China babies) on July 27, 2006!

It was the "First Time Mom" Consignment Presale sponsored by All 4 Kids. I had so much fun! There were rows and rows of toys, books and shoes. And, there was an entire room devoted to clothes. Mick and Kathy are very seasoned in consignment shopping, and I was a little overwhelmed at first. But, I was able to watch and learn from the pros! I bought several really cute outfits and a few toys that are now stored in the closet of the room that will be the nursery.

I am so grateful to Mick and Kathy for introducing me to the world of consignment shopping! :)

My First Post

Well, here it is! My first post! On August 3, 2006, it will be 9 months since our paperwork was logged in China. At times, it seems like a lifetime.

Our paperwork is currently in the review room, and we hope to be hearing very, very soon that November dossiers are out of review.

When we first signed up for China adoption, we were told it would be 7 months from log in date until referral. Now it is looking more like 12 to 18 months. I am pretty sure that we will be in China sometime early next year - maybe in the spring. We would be so excited if referrals sped up, but it doesn't look like the matching process will be speeding up anytime soon.

This wait is trying at times, but when we hear the official word that November is out of review, we are going to start working on the nursery. That should keep us busy for a while!

I will try to update this blog as often as I can to keep everyone up to date. Hopefully, I will have good news about the review room soon!
