But today it is raining and in the 40's. Ugh. No sitting on the porch today.
I did go to the doctor (ob/gyn) on Tuesday for a yearly exam. Now, you are probably wondering why I am mentioning this personal info. I am not sharing this info for the heck of it - believe me! I have a short story...I have been going for years to the same doctor. When I first went to him, I was trying to get pregnant. Every year I would go for my annual exam and every year, no baby. When I decided to adopt, I would go for an exam, still no baby. He would ask, "How is it going?". I would say "Still waiting (sigh)". I hated sitting in that waiting room with tons of pregnant bellies surrounding me. I felt like a failure. I totally dreaded it. But this time, I may not have had a pregnant belly, but I did have a tiny brag book filled with pictures of Briana. I sat in that waiting room and the usual pit in my stomach was gone. Completely gone. I showed my pictures of Briana to the doctor and he told me how happy he was for me. Now I can't say I enjoyed going to the gyn, but it wasn't so bad this time. I am happy that the pit in my stomach is finally gone and that the sadness in my heart is gone as well. For all of you still waiting, this will happen for you too. Promise...
Since not too much has happened this week, I am sharing the pictures I took about a week and a half ago when my mom, sister, Briana and I all got together for lunch and a little shopping to celebrate my sister's good news.

Oh that's good!

13 Kind Words:
I love this post - you talked about two 'dreams' (the sitting in the porch while your DD plays and being able to finally brag about your DD to your doctor) coming true and I think so many of us can relate! It's amazing how many little dreams like that have come true for so many of is in the past few months.
I absolutely get this.
And I can't wait for my own day.
So happy for you that your day has come. Enjoy every second of it!
I get it, completely...
I get it too! And... I have a spicy girl too so I know what your day is like!!! Great fun!!!

I'm so happy for you! There are a lot more happy moments to come - enjoy them!

I still can't get over how much your sister and you look alike... it's uncanny!
I am so happy that you can be a proud mama everywhere you go now.
Us speculum-wielding types are a sensitive bunch as a rule....yeah, not all of us but most.
Hugs, mama
That is such a great story, so glad you shared it, brought tears to the eyes--hit very close to home. And for all those pregnant bellies there are probably several more that would like to be, they're so easy to forget and overlook. Like you and I and several others probably felt overlooked in our pain and agony. And it's easy (and nice) to forget what it's like, but who better to encourage them than someone like you? You are amazing.
Great Post girly...
You made me have tears ...
I am sooo happy for you..
Glad you enjoyed your gyno appt...
Even though I have had 3 children.. I look at pregnant women everyday and it makes me sad... I wish I could be pregnant again..
I LOVED it.. but on the bright side , I know that I am paper pregnant and I can't wait to deliver..

So glad those feelings are gone and you now have what you've been dreaming of for years.
Your posts are always so encouraging, thoughful and supportive of those of us who are waiting. You'll never know how much this means to us.
Glad the pit is gone and the well of love is there in it's place!
