There is so much I still haven't talked about regarding January and February "happenings."
At the end of January, Briana was picked to take home her classroom mascot ~ "Captain Cook." She got to keep him overnight, and we chronicled our evening with the Captain in pictures.
Briana posing with Captain Cook and Mei Mei...
We had dinner with B's friend ML and her family that evening at the Mellow Mushroom...
Bri ready for bed...
Bri ready to take Captain Cook back to school the next morning...
That evening, Bri lost her very first molar (see, teething advanced!)!!
The last Saturday in January, Doug, Bri and I were able to meet a very special little someone ~ Miss Hannah...
The nephew (Zach) of Doug's high school best friend (Jimmie) became a dad in December. Jimmie and his family are like family to us. Doug and I watched Zach grow up from a baby and it is unbelievable that he is now a dad.
Doug, Bri and the baby...
Giving gifts to Hannah's mommy...
Me with their sweet little girl...
She is just precious!!!
The first Sunday in February, we met Bri's friend Izzy and her family for brunch...
The kids had a big 'ole time!
Briana learned all about Georgia regions in school. She had to pick one region and do a shoebox project. She picked the coast/ocean and this is how it turned out...
You can't really see too well in these pictures, but we sprinkled salt on the bottom of the freshly painted box to make it look like sand...
Below, Briana drew this picture of a carnival. It's really cool but a little creepy too if you ask me - LOL!
Briana finished up winter soccer camp in February...
We are so sad because Bri's friend Zoe is moving away soon. Sniff. We will miss her so much on Team Argentina this spring...
We had another fun outing/dinner with Miss Izzy and her family one evening. Mellow Mushroom was on the menu again...
It's unbelievable, but Izzy will be moving away soon too. Briana is going to be very sad little girl in the spring. :(
And here is Miss Mei Mei - looks like she is smiling in her sleep...
Mei Mei has gotten so much more relaxed over the several weeks she has been with us. She went from never sleeping in the day and being completely wired to relaxing and sleeping much, much more during the day. It's nice to finally see letting her guard down. If you are scratching her head or chin, she will wrap her paws/arms around your hand and bring your hand to her cheek so she can rub and love on it.
She definitely loves attention...
Doug has traveled a bit already in February. First trip was 5 days to San Jose, then 2 days in Tampa and now a possible 3 day trip out of the country coming up soon too. It's always kind of tough when he is gone.
Bri has been on winter break all this week (post on that to come) - and we stayed close to home for Mei Mei. It's been a nice stay-cation actually. I'm a bit of a home body at heart. I like to travel a couple times a year, but that's really good enough for me. I'm not someone that needs to travel all of the time. And with Doug traveling so much for work, it's kind of hard to make him keep going out of town. We do have some plans for spring break, so we are really looking forward to that.
There you go. A little catch up. That is all the stuff that has been going on around here that I hadn't yet talked about in previous posts. That's a wrap!
1 Kind Words:
Always lovely to get your news! Mei Mei looking really happy Lisa.
We had a quiet Winter Break too, G had a double ear infection and sickness bug so she didnt get a chance to enjoy her time off, boo.....
But like you, we have plans for Spring Break. We are taking my parent in-laws to Ireland! We have rented a house by the seaside, and yes, golf clubs are coming too!!!!
Cant wait to hear what you have planned for then! DXX
