We Caught Covid

Well, Doug and I both got Covid. Bri somehow managed to avoid it. Doug brought it home from a business trip to Utah (almost the whole company was in attendance). I'd say it's possible around 80 or more people got sick from his company from that trip. I guess you can say Doug gave me a not so fun Mother's Day gift.

I'm still not feeling 100 percent. Doug and I are both negative now, but I'm still struggling with some lingering sinus issues and exhaustion. Once I feel better, I plan on catching up on blogging. And I do plan to blog about this experience. I'm being open and honest about getting sick. I don't see why it would be necessary to hide it or not be honest about it. I worked very hard for over two years not to get it and not to spread it, but I finally did get it. I think in time, everyone will get it. It is inevitable. It seems now to be hitting a lot of the people who managed to avoid it so long.

Doug, Bri and I got vaccinated and boosted so we could start to let our guards down a bit and start living life more regularly again. We knew the newer strains were more "mild" - though I don't see Covid as ever being truly mild. At least it wasn't for D and me. And when Doug, Bri and I did let our guards down, it hit us kind of hard (though I do feel my bought with bronchitis in December was tougher). The omicron strain is one of the most contagious viruses I've ever experienced. Doug was home for only two days when I started feeling symptoms. It was that quick.

I experienced shock, anger, disappointment, sadness and a bit of distress when Doug tested positive on Mother's Day. He home tested daily after he got home to try to be on the safe side. He had no symptoms when he tested positive. Those came a couple of hours later. It was too late though and it spread to me.

So, I'll probably start blogging again in a few days. Could you all send me some good health vibes that I will start feeling like myself again? I could use them. Thanks.
