Mother's Day Celebrations

Mother's Day is always a special time for me. I am blessed to still have both of my grandmothers, my mom, my sister and my beautiful daughter to celebrate. The Friday before Mother's Day, my mom, sister and nephew came over to have a little early celebration of all things "mom." Look at all the pink in the gift giving - LOL!

My sister bought my mother and I these beautiful perfume holders...

And I got my mom this pretty little box...

My sister gave me these beautiful tulips too...

My mom brought these yummy cupcakes for the kids...

Not sure if my nephew enjoyed the frosting... ;)

Bri enjoyed the delicious cupcakes too...

On actual Mother's Day, we had a change in plans because it rained. It rained hard all day. Usually, we go to the lake and have a picnic. Wasn't going to happen yesterday.

We still took our mommy/daughter photos...

Daddy got us giggling of course...

In the morning before I got dressed, Doug and Briana brought me breakfast in bed and gave me goodies. Late Friday afternoon, Doug took Briana over to the Art Station and she made me this beautiful Mother's Day card...

And Doug surprised me with front row "Jersey Boys" tickets in June. I was shocked and very excited!

Instead of heading to the lake, we headed out to have some lunch and see a movie...

It was a very nice and relaxing day.

And I have another little story. Some of you may remember I planted a rose bush a few years ago. I have been cutting and enjoying all my roses for a few weeks now. Unfortunately, I have started getting some black spot and some spiders on them recently. So one day, I cut the roses that had bloomed off and sprayed the bushes down a bit. My purple rose bush only had a bud on it, but I went ahead and cut it too and put it in a vase. I hoped it would bloom anyway. I started thinking that I had cut it way too soon. I was just about to throw it away because it sat there over a week without opening.

Then the weekend of Mother's Day - it opened...

Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. But I like to think it is a little sign for me. :D

Sounds like a great day spent with all your nearest and dearest "girls"! Doug always gets you the most thoughtful gifts...I need him to have a word with my hubby! Dx

your rose is beautiful. There are no coincidences in life, just messages that we choose to see or leave unattended :)

What a fabulous Mothers Day.
