As you can tell, Briana loves fashion. And I LOVE fashion.

When I was a teenager, that is what I wanted to do with my life. Something in fashion. I didn't know what to call it back then, but I used to say I wanted to be a fashion coordinator. I guess the word used in today's world is a stylist. If I had to do it all over again, that is what I would do. When I started college, I changed my mind about what I wanted to do and studied psychology. I really wanted to help people. Raising a spirited yet sensitive daughter with a great sense of fashion allows me to use both my strengths I guess - LOL!

When I lived as a preteen in Miami, I was very particular about what I wore. There was a huge Latin influence - and I was not afraid of bold colors, interesting prints and big chunky jewelry (and it was also the late 80's). When I moved to Georgia, I tried to go to school dressed this way and the kids looked at me like I had three heads. It kind of squashed my desire to be different. I definitely conformed to fit in. Nowadays "different" is celebrated. Not so much then.

I am so thrilled that Bri loves fashion as much as I did (and still do). We really are kindred spirits. She definitely has her own mind about what she wants to or does not want to wear, but I do give her options and she usually picks out/agrees to what I suggest.

I guess I am living vicariously through her. She is my little model.

In a few weeks, the 2nd and 3rd graders are going to do a play/musical performance at school and the kids will be able to dress as up as their favorite occupation.

Yep - Bri wants to go as a fashion designer. We are going to do it up BIG!
