Gymnastics Update

Gymnastics is going very well so far. I was worried because Bri's class is at 6:30PM, but I think I'm more tired at that time than she is. She has a great group of little girls in her class and I love her teacher. This class is teaching the girls how to stretch properly and how to have proper form. Briana is having some difficulty doing a back bend, but her coach explained to me that since Bri just turned 4, her shoulders have not fully developed yet and they don't have a full range of rotation. They probably won't have full range of rotation for a while. Bri still has some growing to do. It is so nice that her teacher is so aware of the body and knows what to not push in such a young child (wipe sweat off my eyebrow).

But I am in awe of Briana's upper body strength. She climbed over halfway up a rope for the very first time! I was always pathetic as a kid when it came to upper body strength (which still sadly remains today). I couldn't climb a rope to save my life. So, I love seeing how strong Briana is...

Love all those pointed toes. :D So far, I am very, very happy with the class. And most importantly, Briana seems to be too!

6:30??? Heh. My early riser is in bed by seven. She'd probably fall asleep on the balance beam. Oh, how I wish she'd sleep past six in the mornings.

And it sounds like Bri has some amazing skillz and a knowledgeable teacher. So exciting!
