(Three posts in one day - yowza!)
We have decked the halls of casa de Briana! My house is all lit up! I love this time of year.
Here are Bri and me picking out the real Christmas tree that goes in our family room...
Briana says the tree looks like a closed umbrella here...
This is our house all lit up - compliments of Douglas...
My house lit up again inside...
Bri helped me decorate the tree upstairs in my bedroom. This tree is fake...
And the little tree that is in Briana's room used to be in my room as a kid...
I guess the style of my house at Christmastime could be called "old fashioned." I have a lot of ornaments on my tree - I mean A LOT. Lots have been handed down to me and many I bought when I first married Doug. I bought more when Briana came home. Most of my decorations are "memory-filled." I look at them and they mean something or bring up a memory of the past.
And lastly, here is another tradition. The gingerbread house...
It turned out cute, but I still cursed at it this year. Even with trying to glue it, it fell apart on me. I guess I didn't wait long enough for the glue to dry. I might be retiring from gingerbread house making. We'll have to see how I feel next year...
I would say half the icing ended up on the gingerbread house and the other half ended up in Bri's mouth.

9 Kind Words:
Cute! I love it. Especially your nonflashing outdoor lights. My neighbor's are giving me a seizure disorder. They flash in time to music, so there is not even a pattern to the flashing. All of a sudden they go wild when the music gets fast. I hate them.
The rest of the house looks fantastic. Wish I had room for two trees!
Hi!! Just to say I think your house always looks amazing at Christmas. We have clear lights on our tree this year but I think we will go for coloured ones next time...they seem more appropriate when you have a child.
I love that you have so many fond memories from your ornaments.
And "Mall Santa" looks the best
I think!
Hope Briana has lots of parties scheduled!
Your house is so beautiful! Love all the lights and trees.
Your home is so festive! I LOVE the old fashioned Christmas feel.
Hand-me down ornaments are the best. Enjoying the memories while decorating is the best part of decorating, for me.
I looked at the gingerbread houses last week. I can't decide if Z is too young this year. After reading that they fall easily, maybe I'll wait until next year.
I believe that you have the BEST mall Santa. He is so neat. What fun that Bri got to see him three times - so far. How excited she must be. :o)
Wow, your house looks absolutely beautiful.
Love memory trees.. Our tree is all memories.. not one ornament is a theme...
Love it.
Hugz..
I want to do a gingerbread house this year...
Have a great weekend..
Beautiful!!!!!!
We have THREE trees up this year....you were part of the inspiration for that!! I loved that you had 2 trees, so we decided to put one in the kids bedrooms this year :) I should totally do a "Christmas Tour" of my house.
What a magical home for Briana to enjoy now and remember for the rest of her life! How beautiful!
Your home looks so festive and lovely! Happy holidays!
