Back In The Swing Of Things

I cannot believe it has been a little over two weeks since fall break ended. It was tough getting back into regular life after such a fun vacation, but we slowly got our groove going again.

When Bri returned back to school, she received her school photo (the one that will go into the yearbook) ~ gosh dang, she looks so grown up...

She also had to turn in her first book report project (which she finished over fall break). The kids had to make a cereal box and create a cereal commercial based on the book they read.

Briana read "Aphrodite the Diva" and based her cereal on that. I think she did an amazing job (with a little help from mom) and her commercial was adorable (see the video below)...

I couldn't be more proud of her. This is a kid that was in speech therapy up until last year ~ struggling with r, s and th sounds. She can now say "Aphrodite," "Pygmalion," "Galatea," and "Love-licious" with ease. She blows me away...

Each afternoon after school, Briana starts her homework right away and Mei Mei usually hinders helps. Mei is not supposed to get on the table. You can see how well she listens to me...

After a busy fall break and school ramping up, it was time for some "girl time." Had a great dinner date with my two of my besties...

Bri looked extra super cute and cool one day before school, so I snapped a couple pictures before heading out...

The weekend before last  ~ we were completely booked up for the weekend. There was a soccer game on the schedule as well as a visit to our favorite family farm.

It ended up raining the entire weekend and all our plans had to be rescheduled. So, a full and busy weekend turned into a completely open and relaxing one. Briana and Mei Mei took advantage...

That Sunday, Bri and I made our favorite pretzel treats...

That Sunday afternoon, Doug headed out to go to Nashville then on to Orlando for business. He's been traveling so much lately. Mei Mei decided to protest and get in his suitcase. We found her like this ~ packed in and underneath the strap...

One afternoon last week (while Doug was still out of town), Bri and I decided to take a stroll around the neighborhood (the weather was beautiful) ~ Bri was on her bike and I walked...

For the two weeks following fall break, Bri's school collected money for the annual "Boosterthon." The PTA is collecting funds to put toward a new playground.

Bri's class hit a monetary goal and earned crazy hair and silly slipper day on Thursday. Bri requested this particular hair style...

Finally, Friday rolled around and it was Boosterthon Fun Run time (more on that in my next post)...

And all of the plans that we had scheduled for the first very rainy weekend of October were pushed to this past weekend ~ so we were very busy!!! More on that to come too...
