We spent the first weekend in May with my dad's side of the family. We went to celebrate my cousin Michelle's son Ethan's bar mitzvah.
We boarded a plane and arrived Friday evening in Fort Lauderdale. It jumped into bed because we had to rise early the next day for Ethan's bar mitzvah service...

I got gussied up too...
On the way to the temple, I spotted this rainbow. My grandparents (dad's parents) have both passed, so I'd like to think this was their way of letting us know they were going to be there in spirit...
Unfortunately, pictures were not allowed to be taken during the service. My dad was asked to do a reading and Briana was asked to help "close the ark" at the end of Ethan's service.
Sunday afternoon/evening rolled around and we attended the party for the bar mitzvah boy.

The cocktail hour area was lovely...
There was a sushi bar...
Briana showing off her spray painted tattoo...
My mom and my Aunt Jane...
Briana made a friend named Elizabeth - she is Ethan's cousin on his dad's side of the family...
Me and my cousin Greg. I had not seen Greg in many years. It was great catching up with him...
The bar mitzvah boy during the candle lighting ceremony. He is lighting a candle with his sister Eliza...
Ethan with his parents (my cousin Michelle)...
And what is a bar mitzvah without a hora? It was Briana's very first hora...
It was a whirlwind of a weekend and nice to catch up with family we had not seen in a while. A big congrats to Ethan on such a huge milestone.
