Honestly, I am still amazed. My friend Kathy completely, utterly amazes me. Her parties are spectacular. And every year I say to her "How are you going to top this one, Kathy?" And then SHE DOES. But I have to say, unless she flies us all to the moon next year, I'm not sure how she'll top this one. LOL!
Miss Chani turned 7 years old on Sunday and she is obsessed with all things Harry Potter. So Kathy gave Chani the party of her dreams. Who needs Universal? Just go to Kathy's house!
It all started with an invitation and a ticket...
Kathy asked me if I wanted to play "Sybill Trelawney - the Professor of Divination." I was a bit nervous, but I thought what the heck and went for it. I got a costume together. Like the look? It's totally me, right? Hee, hee...
When we arrived, we "checked in" with Professor McGonagall (Kathy) and Professor Dumbledore (Matt). We were also greeted by the birthday girl...
I stepped into Kathy's house and it was transformed into Hogwarts ~ literally...
The kids entered the "castle" and were given wands, robes, spell books and instructions...
They were brought in and immediately taken to the sorting hat to find out which "house" they would belong to...
Briana ~ Hufflepuff!!!
Briana and Katie...
Briana, Katie and Maisie...
Kathy hired a wonderful magician and the kids absolutely loved him...
Kathy told me I was on after the magician. Doh!!! How the heck was I supposed to follow that? He was so good! Good gracious!
But I did it. And I have to say, the kids really dug it...
I was telling fortunes left and right and flying by the seat of my pants. I don't even remember what I said to half of them! LOL! They thought it was really neat and I even had kids come up for seconds.
Here I am talking to the birthday girl...
Here I am talking to the birthday girl...
Bri totally went with it. And she giggled when I told her she had a wonderful mother. Heh...
While I was telling fortunes, the kids were getting their portraits taken...
Next it was the "Reducto" part of the day. (Shrinky dinks ~ :D )
The kids went outside and played some quidditch. I heard Bri was a ringer - LOL!
The kids then came inside to plant some seeds. And with their magic wands they would make the plants "grow." They were then sent outside to play for a few more minutes...
They came back inside to these. Amazing, right? ;) ...
Then "Happy Birthday" was sung to the beautiful birthday girl...
Look at that cake...
The kids dined on chicken nuggets, cupcakes and butterbeer...
And as the kids left, they were allowed to shop at Honeydukes (to put in their goodie bags). They got all this candy...
Parting photos...
They are real wizards now!!!!
Honestly, this was one of the most amazing parties I have ever seen in my life. And I am so happy I got to be such a big part of it. It was so much fun. I channeled my inner professor - accent and all. I think maybe I missed my acting calling. ;)
4 Kind Words:
Wow, I'm kind of speechless. Thank you for all your kind words. I LOVE the first picture of the four girls.
I can’t believe you took a photo of my toilet. HAHA! You got several pictures that I didn’t get like the dementors, Matt with the magician or the sorting hat ceremony either. Guess Dumbledore was too busy listening for my cue as to which house each kid preferred. :)
It was a LOT of work but so fun and so worth it. I couldn’t have done it alone so thanks again for being a part of it.
Bri’s card was brilliant! LOVE!!!
WOW!!!!
To Chani's mom: this is truly amazing!! My daughter would have LOVED this!!! I can tell you put a TON of work into this. My mind is blown ;-)
WOW! What an amazing party! The imagination, work and LOVE to pull this off must've been out of this world. I'm sure this party will be remembered for a loooong time! Thanks for sharing some of the memories with us!
