Afternoons

Bri and I have had a nice mix of busy afternoons and laid back afternoons throughout the summer. Last week included.

Monday afternoon was super fun. Briana and I invited Bri's friend Emma over to our neighborhood pool after Bri's cooking camp. The girls had so much fun together!!!

The girls spent the majority of time in the main part of the pool...

But whenever there was adult swim (10 minute lifeguard break), they headed to the kid section with the squirty water...

The girls were just so sweet together!

Tuesday afternoon after camp, we met my good friend Carole at our favorite local square for lunch. Once again, Bri played on the train and easily met kids to play with...

We had to have ice cream! This is Bri's favorite ice cream shop...

Friday afternoon after camp, Kathy and I took Bri and Chani out to lunch at Joe's Crab Shack. It was our "farewell to cooking camp" lunch. The girls got to dance to the song "YMCA" - that is what they were hoping for!

And this afternoon, Bri and I worked on her summer project for Venture. She had to write a poem describing herself as a pizza. And she had to come up with a company name...

She and I put our heads together and put together something really cute. It's kind of hard getting in school mode in the middle of the summer. But we got it done...

I have to admit - I don't have really anything else planned in the afternoons for the rest of summer vacation. I am pretty tired thinking of new things to do and trying to initiate play dates. I think I am just going to play it by ear the rest of the summer. I really don't mind some quiet, non-activity filled afternoons. Bri has just 2.5 weeks until school starts anyway.

How is that possible? Summer vacation is almost done! Wah!
